CRF
OUR STORY
European Family-Owned Business
Lena and Vincent have been in the horse business since they were children in Europe. Vincent trained in Germany and Ireland, and Lena trained in Sweden and Germany. They met in Wellington, and have continued their partnership with the creation of CRF in 1995. They have worked for Anne Kursinski, Gunar Ostergaard, Eric Hasbrouck, Nancy Polozker, and Linda Sheridan, and transferred their lessons into CRF. Their daughter, Vivian, carries on those same lessons with her young horses.

Teaching Style at CRF
Here at CRF we believe that the horses' health is top priority.
In order to teach this to our students, we give them experience beyond riding in a lesson and have them explore what it means to take care of a horse. From proper brushing to learning parts of the horse, our students can recognize problems before they become untreatable. We think that it is important to become better acquainted with our horses through these methods, so that each student can have a productive ride.
We also stress constant observation of the horses for cuts, signs of illness, swelling, etc. because our horses enjoy 12 hours outside at night during the summer and 12 hours during the day in the winter (weather permitting).

Creating Second Chances
at CRF
Clover Ridge Farm gladly takes part in rescuing horses and re-training them, either for re-sale or for competition. Through patience and skilled hands, we are able to work with the hotter, more nervous types and achieve rideability; we also work with the slower types in developing form and impulsion. We always make sure to work at a pace that is a comfortable challenge for our horses, which helps us understand how to further the horse's education and level.
